THE PROBLEM
Fashion enthusiasts need an easier way to get inspiration without thinking about what looks good on them.
THE SOLUTION
By creating this app for fashion enthusiasts, I aim to help those interested in fashion be fully confident in their outfits and save time instead of worrying about what to wear.
MIND MAP
This mind map shows the brainstorming process for my chosen topic. I knew I wanted to go in the fashion direction because it is something that I am very interested in.
AFFINITY DIAGRAMMING
The affinity diagram shows feedback from three individual interviews that were conducted to get a better understanding of the problem.
INFOGRAPHIC
The infographic showcases the challenges participants face in fashion, how often they need to consider what to wear and why they dislike fashion. Using data gathered from qualitative data interviews and quantitative research surveys, I concluded that participants would be interested in an app that helps people put together an outfit.
USER PERSONA
After narrowing down my research, I created a user persona of my ideal user to get a better understanding of who would most likely find the app useful.
MOODBOARD
Getting inspiration from other fashion apps, I knew I wanted the color scheme to be neutral while being recognizable from competitors. I used a modern beauty typeface, Black Mango, to cater to young adults and make them look stylish, as the app is about fashion.
LOW-FI & MID-FIDELITY WIREFRAMING
Using all the information I have gathered, I put together low & mid-fidelity wireframes keeping my target audience in mind and prioritizing essential features.
USER PREFERENCE TESTING
Designing the layout that would be most effective for users took a lot of experimenting. However, with help from peers and my instructor, I found the layout that would be most suitable for my intended user.

PROJECT OUTCOME
This was my first time designing an app that reached a specific target audience. I learned the process and steps it takes to create an app. With help from critiques, I was able to design an app that is suitable for fashion enthusiasts. I went for a more neutral and minimal approach to provide more focus on the clothes and the user’s outfit ideas. This project taught me much about the UX/UI world and sparked my interest in pursuing more UI projects.
