A Case Study on a Skin Care App Made for You
PROJECT BRIEF
Create a case study of a UX/UI app that uses enhanced AI technology.
ROLE
UX/UI Designer
DATE
May 2024
THE PROBLEM
With the growing interest in self-care, healthy skin, and the influence of social media, skincare has become a popular essential in everyday routines. However, with the overload of information, itโs often a challenge for beginners to find suitable products without investing time in extensive research and trial and error.
THE SOLUTION
This research aims to find a solution that proposes an integrated service using user data to promote a clear and effective way of navigating individual skincare needs and allowing beginner skincare users to purchase skincare products confidently.
PHASE 1: RESEARCH PROPOSAL
RESEARCH QUESTION
If beginner skincare users are struggling to find the skincare product that works for them, how can camera/AI technology be used to make finding skincare products more convenient and reduce the amount of time and money wasted on trial and error approaches?
HYPOTHESIS
It is hypothesized that novice skincare users will be satisfied with their skincare purchases by following the โstep-by-stepโ instructions through enhanced camera features in an interactive smartphone app.
PROPOSAL STATEMENT

pROJECT OUTCOME
Overall, this case study improved my critical thinking skills, prioritizing effective, easy-to-navigate designs over aesthetics. I enjoyed the research process as I got more comfortable getting to know my target audience. This was crucial to creating an app where the user could navigate easily. Through this case study, my passion for UX/UI design grew.
